The Phone From the Past

Abdullah, a man in his late thirties, discovers an old rotary telephone among his grandfather's belongings, dated 1973. At midnight, the phone rings despite being connected to nothing. He answers and hears a distant voice identifying itself as Sami Al-Khalidi a government employee murdered in 1973 and falsely recorded as a suicide. Sami had uncovered a major financial corruption scheme at the Ministry of Public Works, and his supervisor had him killed to bury the evidence.

Abdullah freezes when he hears the supervisor's name: Abdul-Aziz Al-Abdullah his own family name. He spends the night digging through archives until he uncovers a stamped government memo bearing his grandfather's signature.

Faced with an impossible choice stay silent to protect his family's legacy, or expose the truth and deliver justice denied for fifty-two years Abdullah chooses truth. He tells Sami the location of the buried evidence and the name of the one honest official who will act. By morning, the historical records have changed: his grandfather was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in May 1973. And Abdullah's own name, from 2026, now appears in a 1973 case file as
